Before joining Chosen Generation, Lubwama Joshua struggled with low self-esteem and lacked a strong spiritual foundation. He describes his past self as somewhat unruly and disconnected from a Christian way of life. However, witnessing the transformation in his older brothers, who were already part of Chosen Generation, planted a seed of curiosity in his heart. Their unwavering faith, obedience, and commitment to prayer at home were living proof of the impact of the group. Encouraged by his friend Genza Jonathan, Joshua attended his first gathering—and what he saw was pure joy. That single experience was enough to convince him to join.
From that moment, Joshua became an active participant in team retreats, focus group discussions, fellowships, and devotions. Through these, he gained public speaking skills, leadership abilities, and a newfound confidence that reshaped his personal and professional life. No longer the shy young man who feared crowds, he has become a Community Psychologist and a Mental Health Advocate, using his voice to educate others.
One of his proudest achievements is running Mental Health Awareness Campaigns with various organizations. He attributes his success to the skills and growth he acquired through Chosen Generation. His ministry extends beyond the church—using sports as a platform for mentorship, balancing faith, academics, and athletics, and conducting school outreach programs to promote mental health awareness.
Joshua’s journey is a testament to transformation through faith and community. To those considering joining Chosen Generation, he offers simple but powerful advice:
"Take the step. You will gain spiritual growth, a sense of belonging, and the skills to navigate life’s challenges."
Looking ahead, Joshua envisions a future where mental health becomes a national priority, and he is committed to making this dream a reality. Through continued awareness campaigns and advocacy, he hopes to bring lasting change.
For him, Chosen Generation will always remain a pillar of support and a beacon of hope, and he believes its mission will continue to shape lives—just as it shaped his.
Jonathan Genza exemplifies the transformative power of community and faith through his journey with Chosen Generation. Before joining, Jonathan was a shy and introverted individual, often feeling out of place in social settings and held back by fear. His life took a pivotal turn when he was introduced to Chosen Generation by his brothers, Geoffrey Ssaku and Joel Ntale, and with encouragement from Rev. Damalie Nalubwama, who visited his family and invited him to join.
Motivated by the ministry’s commitment to service and spreading the Gospel, Jonathan eagerly became involved. “Their outreach through door-to-door evangelism and community crusades drew me in,” he recalls, excited about the chance to be part of such impactful work.
His experience in Chosen Generation has been nothing short of enriching. Jonathan participated in various activities, including ministering during Sunday services, contributing to a music album, and engaging in annual retreats. Each event deepened his faith and strengthened his connections with fellow members.
Through Chosen Generation, Jonathan developed essential social skills and boosted his self-esteem. “Surprisingly, I discovered my singing talent, which I hadn’t realized before joining,” he shares. This newfound confidence has been instrumental in his personal and professional life, helping him excel in job interviews and build strong professional relationships.
Among his proudest accomplishments is the remarkable academic progress he made, leading to opportunities with reputable organizations. He attributes this success to the confidence he cultivated through his involvement in Chosen Generation.
A defining moment in Jonathan’s journey occurred during a challenging time when he wasn’t actively involved in ministry and faced job loss. “Being invited to minister again as a group leader rekindled my passion for service,” he reflects. This renewed involvement led him to secure a fulfilling position with The AIDS Support Organization (TASO), marking a significant turning point in his life.
As a role model in his community, Jonathan demonstrates values of integrity, dedication, and faith, inspiring other young people to join Chosen Generation and pursue their potential. His team has also conducted charity initiatives and Gospel outreaches that have positively impacted numerous communities.
For youths considering joining the program, Jonathan has a powerful message: “Chosen Generation is an extraordinary ministry where the Holy Spirit’s presence is evident. I urge you to seize this opportunity wholeheartedly. This team will nurture your confidence, enrich your social skills, and connect you to lasting opportunities.”
Looking ahead, Jonathan plans to establish businesses in Luwero, creating employment opportunities and providing career guidance for local youth. “I’m determined to support young people in finding purpose and achieving their potential,” he states with conviction.
Your support can help empower more young individuals like Jonathan, enabling them to transform their lives and make a positive impact in their communities. Together, we can foster a generation of leaders dedicated to service and growth.
Simon Bigirwenkya's story is one of transformation through dedication to faith and community. He grew up in church life, but it was the inspiring performances of Chosen Generation's choir that inspired him to get deeper into the ministry. Simon joined Chosen Generation during his Senior Six vacation, motivated by his love of music and his longing to serve God.
The program was enriching and life changing for Simon. Having actively participated in Sunday praise and worship and reaching out through school, he grew in God's service, using his musical talent to serve and inspire others. He also developed some important life skills: unselfishness and time management. "I learned to put God first and to honor commitments," Simon shares, adding that these values have had a lasting impact on his personal and professional life.
Contributing financially to campaigns and missions is one of the things that make Simon proud. He attributes his professional success to the time management skills he learned from Chosen Generation, which created a means for landing jobs and delivering more than what clients anticipated. His commitments have enabled him to give back to the community, at the same time answer a spiritual calling.
He also looks ahead to the time when he would be a world-renowned author-a dream that he is chasing through prayer, hard work, and trust in God's leading. He believes Chosen Generation has prepared him well for the journey, most especially with the emphasis on reaching out to every kind of audience with wisdom and humility.
Simon wants the young people who show interest in joining Chosen Generation to know: "Serve God now while you have the energy and time. As you're getting older, the responsibilities are piling up, and then time will become very scarce. Maximize the youthful stage to serve God.
At 38, Arthur Banoonya Kigozi’s life stands as a testament to the transformative power of Chosen Generation. Growing up in a Christian household, Arthur had a strong moral foundation but lacked active engagement in ministry. His life took a pivotal turn at age 14 when he was introduced to Chosen Generation by peers at Ndejje Senior Secondary School.
Inspired by the organization's love for praise and worship, Arthur joined the journey of faith and purpose. Arthur refers to his presence in Chosen Generation as something very enriching. He attended community missions, gospel music, drama, and family outreach. These activities developed his spiritual life and allowed him to build essential skills. Through serving in such leadership positions as Chairperson and Treasurer, he developed public speaking, counseling, and teamwork competencies that formed the basis for his professional successes.
Some of his most treasured contributions include the revival of the English service at St. Mark's Cathedral in Luwero Diocese. Arthur has played a fundamental role in attracting youths to the service, turning it into a vibrant and inclusive space for worship. He proudly reflects on how this effort has empowered many young people to live meaningful and productive lives.
Values of integrity, teamwork, and serving others learned in those formative years continue today in the heart of this humanitarian worker, presently serving in Algeria. Arthur extends his care through active support of some of the disadvantaged children of Uganda to support their education and welfare outside professional life.
But one of his most treasured memories, though, is knowing that his experience in Chosen Generation sealed his life and career. "It's more than a spiritual platform," he says. "It's a breeding ground for skills, character, and purpose."
Arthur highly recommends Chosen Generation to other young people. He attests that the program can mold them into well-rounded individuals: "This is where you find guidance for life and career.".
He wants to open a humanitarian foundation in order to develop the youths through the development of skills and talents. With the lessons and values instilled in him by Chosen Generation, Arthur is assured that he would inspire and uplift others as he once was inspired.
Joyce Komakech Nabisaalu found purpose and belonging through faith and service. Raised in a Christian household and attending St. Mark’s Cathedral in Luwero Diocese, Joyce was no stranger to church life. However, it wasn’t until her Senior Six vacation that she joined Chosen Generation, drawn by the opportunity to connect with other youths and serve God actively in her community.
Her active time in the program was both fulfilling and transformative. Joyce immersed herself in weekly meetings, Sunday services, and outreach activities such as visiting the sick, comforting those in mourning, and participating in weddings and retreats. These experiences deepened her spiritual growth and provided meaningful connections with other youths and their families. “It was a chance to engage socially and spiritually,” she recalls, “and it taught me humility, which I carry into both my personal and professional life.”
One of Joyce’s most cherished memories is the overwhelming support she received from Chosen Generation members during her introduction ceremony. Their prayers, encouragement, and active participation left an indelible mark on her, solidifying Chosen Generation’s role in the foundation of her family life.
Though now residing in the USA, Joyce remains connected to her community by offering financial support, praying for those in need, and enabling her parents to contribute to local families, including those within Chosen Generation.
Her advice to youths considering joining the program is simple yet profound: “Take the leap of faith. Serve God while you are young, and He will bless and transform your life through the amazing people you’ll meet.”
Looking forward, Joyce envisions continued growth in Christ, advancing in her career, and nurturing her family with prayer and empathy. She believes the relationships formed in Chosen Generation will continue to influence her life, even from afar.
At 27, Nabukenya Grace Victoria stands tall-a beacon of hope and transformation. Before joining Chosen Generation, life had no meaning or direction; hence, she was yearning to have a purpose in life. Grace's introduction to Chosen Generation came from her big sister, who found community and inspiration in the program. Intrigued and motivated by her sister's journey, Grace decided to step into the same light.
Grace describes her time in Chosen Generation as life-changing. It was at this place where she got deep into her spiritual life and had to be out there serving her community. This she did by door-to-door ministries, where she shared the hope of the Lord with everyone and comforted those who hadn't yet been found by God. It is at such instances that she learned what she could do and the influence of that very thing.
Through her involvement, Grace developed the social skills so important in overcoming her social anxiety and learning how to relate meaningfully with others. "It's easier to mingle, start conversations, and make friends now," she shares, highlighting how these skills have enhanced her personal and professional life.
The most historic moment was at the university level when Grace ran for and won the title of Miss University. This was not only a sign of confidence and leadership but also a perfect avenue to air the values of Chosen Generation. She used her title to inspire her peers to positive change and pursue whatever they desired.
Among the proud moments of her life, Grace recalls helping someone accept Christ a few days before he passed on. "That was a soul won to God, thanks to Chosen Generation," she reflects. It is experiences like these that have moulded her into a productive and conscientious member of her community, inspiring others to view the youth in a positive light.
Grace encourages the other youths to join Chosen Generation and says that it may be the turning point. "This might be the start of a purposeful and brighter life," she says, urging them to embrace every opportunity that comes their way.
In the future, Grace is working toward her own improvement to be able to continue inspiring those behind her. "I want to be a better person than I was yesterday," she affirms. She believes her life will be purpose-driven through Chosen Generation, rooted in faith, and touching many souls.
Matovu Ronald embodies that spirit of service and community Chosen Generation aspires to raise. Before coming to the program, Ronald was this humble boy trying to make his way through life, having come to a newfound faith in God by accepting Him as Lord and Savior during his S.4 vacation. As much as he wanted to serve, he felt he wasn't yet contributing to the world in a meaningful way.
Ronald first heard about Chosen Generation from his church in Luwero and was inspired by friends who were deeply involved in ministry. Eager to engage in youth ministry, he decided to join the program, marking a pivotal moment in his life. “Joining Chosen Generation is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” he shares, describing it as his second home.
With people of similar mindsets, dedicated to one cause, Ronald blossomed in the company of teamwork and spiritual growth.
Involvement in the Finance and Operations department, coupled with various administrative roles, gave him skills important both in his personal life and career. "The small things we did selflessly while in service became the very things that matter in life and work," he says, emphasizing time management, empathy, and collaboration as major lessons.
He is proud of the fact that he has managed to set up a continuity plan for the team where leadership positions are held by young able members. Apart from that, Ronald is considered one of the best young lawyers in Kampala, working with influential people in almost all fields.
And such was the support from Chosen Generation on very special days when Ronald got married. "They were like a floating charge stepping in to oversee everything that required attention during preparations," he now recalls with tremendous gratitude.
Ronald is also dedicated to paying back into his community, providing pro bono services to people of need. "Many have accessed free legal representation because they know a Chosen Generation member who is a lawyer," he says, illustrating the wide-ranging impact of the program.
To all who would want to join Chosen Generation, Ronald advises, "Be humble, come open to learn, unlearn, and relearn. It is all about service beyond self; prayer is the icing on the cake." He believes that even from small acts of service, unimaginable blessings may arise.
In the future, Ronald plans to have a closer walk with God as he continues to raise his career bar. "Chosen Generation is family to me; it's a bond that cannot be broken," he says.
